PORT OF Felixstowe, part of the Hutchison Ports’ network, and Shanghai Westwell Technology Co. Ltd (Westwell) have signed an agreement for an additional 100 battery-powered autonomous Q-Trucks.
Expansion work has started at Felixstowe with VSBW Joint Venture, a consortium of VolkerStevin and Boskalis Westminster, appointed as lead contactor to extend the port’s Berth 9 by 190 metres.
The latest phase of growth will see the development of 1.45 million sq. ft. of warehousing on a 68-acre site, tailored to the needs of its customers.
Rail freight facilities at the Port of Felixstowe, the Port of Britain, have expanded further with the commissioning of two new Rail Mounted Gantry cranes (RMGs) at the port’s North Rail Terminal.
