THE INTERNET retailer and 3PL pre-let the facility from Peveril Securities in 2021 at the height of the Pandemic warehouse boom and put the facility up for sublet in 2023 before finally deciding to occupy and operate the facility themselves last week.
The Amazon logistics centre is due to open at Centre Severn in Barnwood by the end of August with the company announcing that it would create approximately 100 permanent jobs; an increase on original estimates since first announcement in 2021.
The property includes office space, canteens, and a four-storey, 400-space van storage facility with infrastructure for EV charging throughout totalling 270,000 ft2 on a site of approximately 14 acres.
