AR Racking certifies carbon footprint calculation 2022–2024
AR Racking has received the CÁLCULO seals from the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC) for registering the calculation of its Organisational Carbon Footprint corresponding to the years 2022, 2023, and 2024.
THIS RECOGNITION certifies that the company measures and verifies its organisational emissions in accordance with current regulatory requirements in Spain for Scopes 1 and 2, as established by Royal Decree.
Furthermore, AR Racking has gone beyond the mandatory requirements, as since 2022 it has also voluntarily calculated and verified Scope 3 of its Carbon Footprint, thereby including the indirect emissions derived from its value chain. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to responsible environmental management and a comprehensive sustainability strategy.
This achievement reaffirms AR Racking’s dedication to the continuous and rigorous measurement of its climate performance: three consecutive years officially registered and verified. The CÁLCULO seal confirms the robustness of the GHG inventory and its official registration; it does not assess the magnitude of the footprint but validates that it is being correctly measured.
In parallel, the company is working on its decarbonisation plan, currently in the definition phase, with objectives aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This framework guides the setting of scientifically supported emissions reduction targets and reinforces AR Racking’s commitment to an orderly transition with real impact.

Having obtained the CÁLCULO seals for 2022, 2023, and 2024 demonstrates our consistency and transparency, and drives us to implement a decarbonisation roadmap aligned with SBTi. All this is part of the Living Sustainability programme of Grupo Arania, which defines our actions and sustainability priorities,” says Ana Guinea, Sustainability Director at Grupo Arania.
The Ministry distinguishes three seals: “Cálculo” (Calculation), “Reduzco” (Reduction – when a trend of emissions reduction is proven), and “Compenso” (Offset – after calculating, reducing, and compensating the remaining footprint). At present, AR Racking is in the CÁLCULO stage.
