Bidfood boosts efficiency with FBS Hörmann’s dock kit at new Worcester hub
Bidfood’s state-of-the-art distribution centre in Worcester now features cutting-edge loading bays, level access doors, and temperature-controlled systems installed by long-term partner FBS Hörmann.

THIS UPGRADE enhances Bidfood’s high-volume operations, ensuring seamless, safe, and energy-efficient performance across its nationwide fleet.
The project delivered nine fully equipped loading bays with Hörmann HTL2 dock levellers, SPU67 automated sectional doors, and custom in-house dock pads and bumpers. Tailored for Bidfood’s diverse vehicles, these minimise damage risks, speed up docking, and maintain consistent workflows. A dedicated SPU67 door for the level access bay adds flexibility for varied loading needs.

Inside, two Mavicold freezer doors and six Mavipass chiller doors safeguard temperature-controlled zones. These high-speed, frost-resistant doors use rapid stacking to slash heat transfer, preserving cold chain integrity, cutting energy costs, and boosting reliability in harsh conditions. Now, over 100 Maviflex doors (part of Hörmann Group since 2019) operate across Bidfood’s estate—many exceeding a million cycles with minimal maintenance.
FBS Hörmann managing director John Aitken, said: “Our deep understanding of foodservice demands delivers tailored excellence for Bidfood.”
FBS Hörmann’s ongoing aftersales support, with extensive stock for rapid repairs, ensures Bidfood experiences zero downtime and sustained peak efficiency.
