KERAKOLL HAS taken the site at the JV’s 800,000 ft2 strategic employment scheme APTUS with plans to develop a bespoke new building, which will help the expansion of Kerakoll’s network to run both its UK and Nordic operations.

Planning was granted for the 800,000 sq ft APTUS scheme in December 2023, paving the way for units from 25,000 sq ft to 500,000 sq ft close to J31A of the M6. The new development will play a key role in boosting the Lancashire economy, with the potential to create as many as 1,500 new jobs.

HBD Executive Director for Industrial and Logistics Vivienne Clements said: “The deal will act as a catalyst for the delivery of the scheme and demonstrates the continued demand in the market for high-quality, sustainable industrial and logistics space in key strategic locations.

“We look forward to seeing the first unit take shape this year, as infrastructure works start in spring followed by construction in summer.”

APTUS can accommodate units ranging from 25,000 to  500,000 ft2. Joint agents are Gerald Eve, Young & Co and Eckersley Property.
