Construction starts on latest Jingdong Property UK warehouse acquisition
Winvic Construction has begun work on a 250,000 ft2 warehouse at Newlands Developments’ Coton Park site in Rugby which has been sold to Chinese e-commerce conglomerate JD.com’s property arm Jingdong Property.

THE SINGLE-storey facility will incorporate 15,000 ft2 of office space and will be built using a structural steel, multi-span portal frame, with a clear internal height of 15m. It is targeting a BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A/A+rating.
The 60-week programme marks Winvic’s return to Coton Park, where the contractor previously delivered two units on plots 2 and 3.
The forward sale of the warehouse was reported in Logistics Matters in June this year.
Agents Cushman & Wakefield, Savills, Wallis Real Estate, and Lambert Smith Hampton, advised on the deal.
Jingdong Property entered the UK Market in mid 2022 with the acquisition of a 361,000 ft2 logistics facility in Milton Keynes . A year later it secured the first and second phases of Apollo, Ansty Park near Coventry comprising seven units across two phases. The first three units were completed in early 2023 and fully let. These units achieved BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings. The second phase of four units, completed in 2024, with two units let in 2025 to Jingdong Logistics and Chinese homeware and furniture company Daals.
