Contractor starts Liverpool scheme

Contractor Winvic has broken ground on a four unit industrial and logistcs scheme in Bootle, Liverpool in the North west.

WINVIC CONSTRUCTION has won the £35.8 million contract to build out four warehosues at Atlantic Park  for Royal London Mutual Insurance Society. 

The 52-acre scheme on the former Rolls Royce Engineering Works site will see an initial development of four units of 40,000 ft2, 50,000 ft2, 110,000 ft2 and 125,000 ft2, and each will have two-storey office space.

They will be developed net zero carbon in construction, targeting BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A rating.

Bird, bat and insect nest boxes will help the scheme score a 10% biodiversity net gain,

Winvic head of industrial, distribution and logistics Danny Nelson, said: “The site isn’t without its challenges due its former use, but we have successfully remediated the ground on numerous projects and are confident to deliver the scheme by the end of 2024.”

The scheme which secured planning last year will total 807,000 ft2 and is located two miles from Liverpool 2 deep-water container terminal, on the intersection of the M57/M58 motorways.

Joint letting agents are Avison young, Savills and CBRE.
