FSDF calls for Awards entries

The Food Storage and Distribution Federation (FSDF) has opened the nominations and submissions for the 4th FSDF Annual Health and Safety Awards.

The three awards are open to FSDF members, in full and associate company categories for corporate excellence, and also to individuals who has achieved personal excellence in health and safety. The FSDF will announce the winners during the annual members’ luncheon on 24th May 2017.

The “Best Individual Contribution to Health and Safety” recognises individuals whose contributions have made an exceptional difference to health and safety in their workplace.

The “Outstanding Contribution to Health and Safety by a Company” acknowledges an initiative, project or new product which enables the food storage and distribution industry’s health and safety record. There are two awards in this category; one for Full Members and one for Associate Members.

For entries in each category, nominations should show initiative in having had a positive effect on reducing accidents at work, lowering sickness rates and increasing the well-being of their workforce. Examples of competencies to be considered are: training and competence programmes, electronic safety devices, communication/foreign language obstacles, visual reminders, innovative PPE provision, new company compliance policies, and well-being programmes that have reduced sickness rates.

In reviewing submissions, judges will be looking for evidence of real and solid achievement, innovation, opportunity for wider application and cost effective deployment prospects throughout the food storage and distribution industry.

For entry in the 2017 Health & Safety Awards, members can enter online at http://www.fsdf.org.uk/health-safety/2017-award-nominations/.

Submissions for all awards must be 2,000 words and include the required information listed on the FSDF website. The closing date for entries is 31st March 2017.
