Designed to celebrate the successes of the most inspirational women in transport and logistics, and to provide evidence and role models for the further development of female talent throughout the industry, the Awards acknowledge the achievements of women in the transport and logistics sector.
Approaching its seventh year, the prestigious FTA everywoman Transport & Logistics Awards are acknowledged as recognising the diversity of the industry.
“FTA is delighted to encourage forward thinking companies that are in turn committed to encouraging diversity in the freight industry,” says Theo de Pencier, FTA Chief Executive, adding: “the FTA everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards celebrate women working within the transport and logistics industry who are enjoying success and will ultimately inspire others to join the sector, and FTA is once again proud to be the title partner of the Awards.”
The FTA everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards began as a way of celebrating the hard work and achievements by women in the sector, and FTA hopes that they will continue to uncover inspirational role models, improve the image of the industry, and demonstrate that the support and development of female talent is taken seriously within the sector.
FTA has supported everywoman and its initiatives since 2008, including the everywoman in Transport and Logistics Leadership Academy, and the FTA everywoman Accelerate Programme. As part of the continued collaboration, the association became the title partner for the FTA everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards in 2013.
Mr de Pencier added: “The key for the freight and transport industry is to be able to access a wider talent pool to be able to meet its need for good quality staff in whichever role it needs to fill. We have to reach out to all parts of the community and, in particular, to women, to recruit and retain the best and to enable all of our organisations and businesses to flourish.”
