THE DEVELOPER submitted outline plans for the scheme recently which Logistics Matters reported in October last year.

Plans for the 107-acre greenfield site, located off Junction 3 of he A14,  propose a development consisting up to eight warehouses that it said could create 3,000 full-time equivalent jobs and bring in £238 million to the local economy per year.

In a statement Harworth said: “Following a consultation exercise with the community that saw us receive feedback from over 700 local residents, we have now submitted an outline planning application to North Northamptonshire Council.”

Harworth bought the site in November 2021 due to its strong strategic position within the prime Midlands industrial location known as the ‘Golden Triangle’. Through links to the M1, M6 and A1(M), the site provides access to over one million people within 30 miles.

At the time of the acquisition Harworth said it would ‘directly develop’ the site. It noted that local plans for the area had already identified a strong demand for employment space and specifically industrial units.
