THE CAMPUS, which will welcome its first learners in September 2026, combines education with hands-on work experience. Learners aged 18 to 25 will combine personalised education with supported work placements, gaining practical experience of the routines, expectations and relationships that shape working life.

The model responds to a significant employment gap. Only 4.8 per cent of adults with a learning disability are in employment, despite more than 65 per cent saying they want to work. Creating Tomorrow College was established to bridge that gap by making employment part of learners’ education, rather than a transition they are expected to navigate alone once their studies end.

For Iron Mountain, the partnership forms part of its wider approach to workforce development, combining hands on learning in a live operational environment. This supports building the skills businesses need, while helping to build a more inclusive talent pipeline.

“This partnership allows us to give young people of all abilities meaningful experience in a real operational environment, while helping our teams become better mentors, communicators and leaders.”

The Rugby campus builds on an existing partnership between Iron Mountain and Creating Tomorrow College, which began in September 2024 and already operates across Iron Mountain sites in Lutterworth and Kettering. Across the programme, learners gain experience in operational environments and are supported to explore work that reflects their individual strengths and interests.
