Leicestershire logistics scheme proposed

Richborough Commercial is proposing a new industrial and logistics scheme in Leicestershire.

THE COMPANY is looking to secure planning on a 23.4 acre site in Ellistown or around 300,000 ft2 of space and has submitted outline planning to North Leicestershire Council.

The proposals envision up to 314,00 ft2 of emplpoyment space together with habitat creation landscaping and associated infrastructure.

Accordng to planning documents Richborough estimates that the scheme could provide up to 590 full time equivalent jobs. It said  that this is likely to create an annual economic output of £53.8m, of which £31.7m is likely to benefit Leicestershire, and £22m to North West Leicestershire. Moreover, the employment generating uses will also be liable for business rates assumed to amount to some £732,000 per annum, benefiting North West Leicestershire Council by some £293,000 per annum (£5.9m over 20 years). 

The site, located on Midland Road, Ellistown, is adjacent to Bardon Hill and is some 3.5 miles from Junction 22 of the M1.

Richborough Commercial anticipates bringing the site to the market mid-2025.
