Linde shortlisted for two FLTA Awards for Excellence
Leading forklift truck manufacturer Linde Material Handling (UK) has been shortlisted in two categories for the Fork Lift Truck Association Awards for Excellence 2014.
Linde Material Handling (UK) has been named finalists in the Innovation and Safety categories for their Reach Truck R14-R20 range.
The annual FLTA awards represent the industry’s foremost recognition of engineering and design excellence. Held to celebrate the best companies within the fork lift truck industry, the awards aim to set the bar for higher standards throughout the industry, from apprentices to senior teams, and manufacturers to ancillary equipment suppliers.
Linde has been shortlisted for its new generation of trucks- the Reach Truck R14-R20 with load capacities from 1.4 to 2 tonnes. This product has a compact, manoeuvrable design allowing the new trucks to have an even more productive flow of goods in the warehouse. This new model enables a whole host of new technical solutions to make the trucks more comfortable, powerful, safer and easier to service. The considerably wider range of models for mast/chassis/battery combinations and the optional features allow customer-specific solutions to be derived from series production.
Linde has been recognised in the safety category for the optional, end-to-end, panoramic toughened glass roof, which also protects the operator from falling objects and hydraulically actuated load wheel drum and automatic electric holding brakes fitted as standard offering superb brake performance. The innovation category boasts a new suspension concept designed to minimise whole body vibrations. The innovative damping features protect the operator from bangs and knocks as the work space is uncoupled from the rest of the chassis. The operators workstation is suspended via four resilient mountings isolating the operator and the workstation from floor surface vibrations.
Linde’s sales and marketing director, Andrew Daly said: “It is a great achievement that our entries have been shortlisted and recognised for their innovative and safety features.
“The fact that we have been named finalists is testament to the innovative product development that we have continued to show throughout 2013. We are extremely happy to be shortlisted in the innovation and safety category – topics which are definitely a priority for us at Linde.
“We strive to achieve excellent standards in our engineering design and ensure that our products are as efficient, safe and as easy to use as they can possibly be. We are looking forward to the award ceremony and have our fingers crossed for a successful evening.”
