THE ANNOUNCEMENT comes with the news that is has pre-let a 53,800 ft2 warehouse within ARK phase two at Markham Vale, Derbyshire, to a manufacturing business. The property, which completes in September 2026, will enable the occupier to consolidate its operations in a workspace with direct access to the M1 motorway.
Last week Logistics Matters exclusively reported on two lettings at SPARK Walsall, the circa.250,000 ft2 lease of Unit A to technology-led last mile delivery company Relay and the letting of the 18,233 ft2 Unit G to EON Energy Solutions, as it expands its engineering and infrastructure hubs.
This follows another lease of two units at APTUS, the £100m I&L scheme in Preston, Lancashire, which is only 1.5 miles from junction 31A of the M6 motorway to Virgin Wines – also exclusively reported by Logistics Matters in June. Virgin Wines pre-let two properties Unit 3 and Unit 2 at APTUS Preston Phase 2, which will be linked to form a total facility of some 82,000 ft2 which it will use to consolidate operations to Preston. Practical completion is due in November.
Following the lettings, 66% of Origin’s 711,000 ft2 current total portfolio is let (59%) or under offer (7%).
Henry Boot CEO Ed Hutchinson, said: “Securing these significant lettings reflects both the quality of the Origin portfolio and the depth of occupier demand for modern, sustainable industrial and logistics space in well-connected locations. Each deal has set new headline rents in its respective location and further supports our confidence in the portfolio’s income and capital growth potential, as we continue to deliver projects aligned with the needs of leading occupiers.”
