THE PROPOSALS submitted in the Summer of 2022 by Commercial Estates Group and property developer HBD envisage a six unit scheme totalling 412,745 ft2 on a 30-acre site near Mansfield.
Mansfield planning committee is meeting on Monday and planning officers have advised the scheme should be approved following assurances of further landscaping to be undertaken including additional tree planting to screen the warehouse buildings, hedgerow planting to interrupt the views of the buildings as well as shared cycle and pedestrian footways meeting up with existing pavements. In addition, the developers are providing financial contributions for a local bus service as well as agreeing for future maintenance of the landscaping around the site.
The site is allocated within the Mansfield District Council Local Plan for residential and employment use, with homes already built. This full application will see a range of new commercial space, including light industrial, storage and distribution, all set within attractive new woodland and green spaces.
The development is expected to create over 500 new jobs, including distribution, skilled and semi-skilled light industrial roles, along with training and apprenticeship opportunities throughout its construction.
HBD Head of Region Director Justin Sheldon, said at the time of the submission: “There is significant demand for high-quality, well-located industrial and logistics units and we expect to see strong interest in the scheme.”
Joint agents on the scheme are M1, FHP and CPP.
