Mega shed under construction in Bristol

McLaren Construction Midlands and North has been appointed to deliver a mega shed of 575,000 ft2 plus on Plot 4 of BGO and Equation’s Matrix 49 scheme in Avonmouth in the Southwest.

THE CROSS dock facility will comprise 549,799 ft2 of warehsoue space with 21 m eaves, 71 dock and eight level access doors as well as 30,762 ft2 two-storey Grade A offices, a 5365 ft2 transport office and gatehouse. There will be 95 HGV spaces (15% with EV charging) as well as a car park with 336 spaces.

The facility will target BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A rating and will have access to up to 8MvA of power.

The works have already commenced and with a forecasted programme of 66 weeks to deliver a completion is expected by April 2026.

McLaren’s partnership with Equation Properties has been instrumental in driving the phased transformation of Matrix 49, Plot 3, a £21.6 million development spanning 13 acres, will deliver a 219,660 ft2 warehouse and 11,365 ft2 of office space.
