Miniclipper processes an order every five seconds at peak after fourth WMS go-live
UK 3PL Miniclipper Logistics, which is moving increasingly into e-commerce fulfilment, now has four of its six warehouses running on a new WMS, with the full rollout due to finish in Q1 2027.

THE FOURTH go-live, at Dunstable, means Miniclipper processes an order roughly every five seconds at peak at its fulfilment operation in Burton-on-Trent. It also has up to a month’s forward visibility of orders, which helps planning in an operation built on next-day delivery and strict KPIs.
Miniclipper is a third-generation family business with around 60 trucks and 230 staff. It has moved from general haulage into pallet networks and warehousing, and increasingly e-commerce fulfilment. That shift required a warehouse management system with e-commerce and kitting capability, full integration with customers’ ERP systems, and fast deployment through configuration rather than custom development. Thomax was chosen after an extensive evaluation.
Each go-live has been phased site by site to protect service levels, with Thomax staff on site throughout. The first site went live less than four months after contract sign-off, and the last two will complete a single WMS platform across all six warehouses less than two years after the first go-live.
Peter Masters, managing director at Miniclipper Logistics, said: “We needed a warehouse management system that could keep pace with our move into e-commerce fulfilment. Our main criteria were flexibility and the ability to implement quickly, and the Thomax WMS fitted the bill. We’re now picking faster and more effectively.”
