THE BROWNFIELD site off the A5, close to the M1 and M6 motorways has the potential for the construction of a 630,000 ft2 prime distribution/logistics development.

Ashfield Land director Ben Holmes, said: “This is a textbook Ashfield Land deal for a site which has outstanding potential for logistics development within a very exciting market.  We’re delighted to have completed the unconditional acquisition and are looking forward to progressing with our plans to secure planning and deliver a best-in-class logistics development in the heart of the Golden Triangle.”

Ashfield Land will be bringing a planning application to Harborough Council at the earliest opportunity promoting a B2/B8 commercial development. Former owner Tarmac withdrew proposals for an industrial scheme on the site at the beginning of 2023 after facing a backlash from campaigners who wish to see the site, which opened in 1958, return to nature and become a country park.
