New president
The Food Storage and Distribution Federation has appointed Garry Tilburn of Reed Boardall Cold Storage as its new president. Mr Tilburn succeeds Malcolm Johnstone, who has stepped down after three years in the role.
Fuel duty freeze
Chancellor George Osborne has pledged to freeze fuel duty until the end of the current parliamentary term in 2015.
Airport capacity
The recognition by the Airports Commission that additional airport capacity is needed in the south east of England is an important step in the right direction, says the Freight Transport Association. The FTA believes additional capacity is urgently needed.
