Palletline Logistics (Midlands) Ltd enters administration
The Birmingham based haulier, a member of UK palletised distribution network, Palletline, yesterday went into administration. It had entered into a company voluntary agreement (CVA) in May 2012.
Though sharing a similar name, Palletline Logistics is a separate legal entity to Palletline plc, operated under separate private ownership not within the control of Palletline Plc.
To ensure a seamless transition for customers, Palletline plc has invited existing members Taskforce Movement and Storage Ltd and Panic Transport (Contracts) Ltd to take up some additional delivery area in Birmingham which will satisfy their growth aspirations. In addition Palletline has recruited a new member; Global Logistics Central Ltd who will provide the cover for the balance of the area made available.
Kevin Buchanan, Managing Director of Palletline plc said: “Palletline plc comprises 67 member companies with 79 locations, across the UK and Ireland and does everything it can to help its members through difficult times. Though we did everything we could to support Palletline Logistics through its CVA the business was unfortunately unable to turn things round and has regretfully entered administration.
“Palletline plc’s focus now, of course, is on ensuring our service levels for customers are maintained without disruption. With our strong member network, which already encompasses much of the Midlands region, we are able to quickly implement contingency coverage for customers of Palletline Logistics and anticipate no operational impact. Longer term, we intend to further expand our network across the UK as part of our continued growth strategy.”
