Piling problem

Piling contractor Keller has received £14.3 million in insurance payments following a problem with a warehouse building contract.

The building at Avonmouth was completed in 2008 but was the subject of a row with main contractor VolkerFitzpatrick over alleged defective piles causing cracked floor slab.

The legal wrangle was resolved in 2015 and Keller bought the warehouse last year with a view to fixing the problems and selling it on.
