THE SCHEME on a 312.76 acre greenfield site at Great Stukeley with direct access to the A1 and A14 motorways will see the development of 2.206 million ft2 of logistic and industrial space adjacent to the Hinchingbrooke Business Park on the outskirts of Huntingdon.
The park will be built carbon net zero with facilities targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A+ with substantial landscaping including the provision of public open space as well as retaining hedgerows, planting new woodlands and shrubs, creating landscape buffers, strategic screening, new green linkages, and enhancing biodiversity with meadows and species-rich grasslands. The developer is targeting a 15% bio net gain for the scheme well over the standard 10% legal requirement.
Newlands Development said: “We are committed to a Net Zero Carbon development, using advanced green technologies to minimise energy and water use, and promoting sustainable travel by improving public rights of way and reducing car dependency.”
The development is expected to provide up to 2,000 jobs including entry level employment opportunities as well as generating up to £4 million in business rates.
An environmental scoping opinion was submitted in March this year and formal planning submission is expected in September this year.
