Planning secured for circa.700,000 ft2 industrials and logistics scheme in Lincolnshire
Alcan Properties has secured outline planning permission from South Holland Council for a circa.700,000 ft2 industrial and logistics scheme near Spalding in Lincolnshire.

MASTERTPLAN PROPOSALS for the site, known as Lincs Gateway, envision a three unit scheme totalling 673,991 ft2 with individual warehouses of 127,488 ft2, 149,528 ft2, and 396,975 ft2.
The Site is located on a 45.7 acre parcel of land at the junction between the B1173 Barrier Bank and the A16, on the southern fringes of Spalding’s main built-up area.
The development will be built to target BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A rating and will include the creation of new publicly accessible open space and amenity area to the west of public bridleway which will connect directly to the bridleway and is intended to provide seating and surfaced footways available for use by the wider community. In addition, there will be landscaped margins around the site enhancing bio diversity at the site.
Despite securing approval, there are concerns from local councillors that local residents will be subject to noise and light disturbances similar to those at PLP’s Astley scheme in the Northwest where Logistics Matters has reported that 3PL Whistl has had to pause nighttime transport operations. The councillors have said they are disappointed that the Lincs Gateway scheme secured consent.
