Cainiao has been named Procter & Gamble’s global strategic automation partner.

Cainiao has been named Procter & Gamble’s global strategic automation partner.

THE COMPANY is one of P&G’s largest warehouse automation partners. Under the deal, Cainiao is rolling out warehouse automation upgrade projects for P&G across multiple regions, including North America, Europe, and Asia. The Guangzhou automation project has already been delivered and put into operation, while the Canada automation project is now entering the on-site construction phase.

The collaboration between Cainiao and P&G dates back more than a decade, when Cainiao first began providing intelligent warehousing and fulfillment services for P&G in China. Since then, the relationship has grown from domestic supply chain services into global projects powered by Cainiao’s AI and robotics systems. The two companies have also reached preliminary agreement on warehouse supply chain operations cooperation in Europe, North America, and other regions.

The partnership reflects a broader trend among multinational consumer companies, which are increasingly turning to automation to simplify operations and improve supply chain efficiency across regions. It also underscores growing confidence in Chinese logistics technology.

Cainiao’s latest product launch is ZeeBot, a climbing warehouse robot designed to move bins on the floor and across warehouse racks, improving both efficiency and space utilization. Over the next four months, Cainiao also plans to deliver four large climbing-robot warehouses in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Spain, working with eCommerce platforms and major brands.

“Over the past decade, P&G has been more than a customer — it has been a partner that helped us broaden our global perspective and deepen our understanding of cross-border operations,” said Huang Zhong, vice president of Cainiao and general manager of its strategy department.
