Tilbury3 to provide 1.5 million ft2 of warehousing
Forth Ports application for the expansion of its Port of Tilbury site in Essex envision a further 1.5 million ft2 plus of industrial and logistics space as well as more than 2 million ft2 of vehicle storage.

THE PROPOSALS for the 143.24-acre brownfield site are currently going through planning with Thurrock Council and look to the redevelopment of the former Tilbury Power Station which sits adjacent to Tilbury2 and will be known as Tilbury3.
The site is split into three zones with the largest zone totalling circa. 60 acres earmarked for up to 1.506 million ft2 of warehousing space a further 20 acre site envisages a five storey vehicle storage unit totalling circa. 2.57 million ft2.
As well as the vehicle storage and industrial and logistics space the proposals also include a construction material and aggregate terminal, container handling and storage, as well as haulier parking/ancillary supporting facilities.
Detailed planning permission is being sought to deliver new access and private Port roads, a new railway link from Tilbury2, land re-grading and development platforms, drainage, utilities and an Ecological Mitigation Strategy.
If approved by Thurrock Council, the Port of Tilbury will submit a detailed planning application and will provide the layout, scale and appearance information in further detail, as well as building on the current EIA submitted with the outline consent application, considering the specific environmental aspects of the area.
