Toyota expands Optio and Tracto ranges

Posted on Tuesday 3 November 2026

Toyota Material Handling Europe has launched four new warehouse trucks, adding the Optio L-series OSE100 and OSE100W low level order pickers and the Tracto S-series TSE300 and TSE500 tow tractors to its next-generation range.

THE LAUNCH continues the company’s ‘Next Level of Performance’ campaign, which began with the redesigned Optio L-series, and is aimed at warehouses and distribution centres that need agile trucks for demanding daily workflows. Order books open in November, with production due to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

The Optio man-up order pickers have a load capacity of 1,000kg. The OSE100 has an elevating platform, together with an initial lift that raises the forks to an ergonomic working height. The OSE100W has a walkthrough platform that allows bulky items to be picked onto the forks. With platform heights of up to 1,195mm, both models allow efficient picking up to second level.

A compact three-wheel design gives the pickers excellent manoeuvrability in congested warehouse environments. Customers can choose between electronic steering configurations, and optional heating supports operators working in colder areas. Standard walkie buttons let the operator advance the truck while walking alongside it, which reduces the need to get on and off during frequent picking cycles.

The Tracto stand-in electric tow tractors have towing capacities of 3.0t and 5.0t respectively, with travel speeds of up to 12km/h. They are also available with lithium-ion batteries, where opportunity charging enables longer shifts, making them well suited to long-distance load transport. Standard inching buttons support precise manoeuvring, and options include rear-view mirrors and directional indicator lights. Customers can also specify a Rockinger hitch for demanding towing tasks.

Across both product families, Toyota has focused on energy efficiency, combining lightweight design with efficient drive technology to cut energy consumption without compromising performance. Evaluations based on ISO 23308 test criteria rated the OSE100 and OSE100W best-in-class for both energy consumption and noise level.

Operator wellbeing is a further priority. The upgraded operator compartment offers wider entry access and integrated storage, while a redesigned battery hood simplifies maintenance and helps reduce downtime. The trucks are also engineered to minimise vibration exposure, reducing operator fatigue over long shifts.

For safety, the trucks can be fitted with Toyota’s blue or red warning lights and other visibility-enhancing options that improve awareness around moving vehicles. Combined with the improved ergonomics of the operator compartment, these help support safer interaction between trucks and pedestrians in busy warehouses.

Mark Peters, marketing director at Toyota Material Handling Europe, said the new models extend “the benefits of our latest platform to more applications”.

A new Optio OSE120CB model will further expand the Optio range.
