3D location traking

A manufacturer of globally distributed snack food has chosen Vero Solutions from Harland Simon to improve its warehouse operations in North America.

The project will see a VeroCapture system installed in the manufacturer’s plant in Florida to accurately track the 3D location of their fleet of forklift trucks and record the exact pick up and drop off location of each pallet.

Each pallet is then identified automatically by its location which means inventory is tracked without manual scanning. As a result inventory accuracy is increased and stock reconciliation efforts are reduced.

Charlie Brackley, sales manager for Vero, comments: “In a complex warehousing operation every single second counts and by automating the process of capturing data, we estimate that we can cut 12 seconds off every single pallet move. This will make a huge difference to efficiency and productivity.”

Automating the data capture and eliminating the errors associated with manual scanning will also ensure the correct items go out on the correct trucks at the right time.

Brackley continues: “We are confident our client will see great benefits from using Vero. We are looking forward to working closely with their team to ensure they get the most out of the system and installation is carried out with minimum disruption.”

The suite of Vero solutions uses a range of advanced location technologies to track people, materials handling equipment (MHE) and inventory in real time to help increase productivity, cut costs and improve safety in warehouse and logistics environments.
