From an idea that started in a humble bedroom back in the 1970’s, and 40 years later UPM Conveyors, specialist in manufacturing and producing conveying equipment, now occupies a 10,000ft2 factory in the heart of Berkshire.
Today, the company exports worldwide and has achieved preferred supplier status with high profile companies such as Procter and Gamble, Unilever, Lindal Group and Findlay’s Fresh Produce. UPM has a European network of agents and is looking to broaden its horizons to China and the Middle East.
“Since the last election, we’ve seen a resurgence in confidence for our industry from customers who were previously anxious about investing in new equipment,” says Roy Fowler, founding member of UPM. “We see a bright future for UPM Conveyors and with our 40th birthday just around the corner, we’re excited for what the future holds for our humble yet prospering business.”
