THE PROJECT reinforces Americold’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence, ensuring long-term efficiency in the region.

The new solar energy system will generate 616 MWh per year, covering 21% of the site’s energy needs and avoiding greenhouse gas emissions by 225 MTCO2e each year. This aligns with Americold’s broader sustainability goals, supporting global efforts to minimise environmental impact.

VP of operations support Peter Nairn, says: “This project reflects our ongoing investment in renewable energy and sustainability. By increasing energy efficiency at the Lurgan site, we are not only reducing our environmental footprint but also reinforcing our ability to serve customers reliably and responsibly.”
