Astec Conveyor patent winning features of High Speed Switch Sorter
Astec Conveyors a leading UK designer and manufacturer of conveyor systems has received a patent for its unique High Speed Switch Sorter, the unit has been developed over a number of years with many modules being successfully installed in systems throughout the UK.
The patent
relates to the innovative engineering design that eliminates the need for use
of special tools or skilled operatives to maintain the equipment reducing downtime
and increasing depot operational efficiency.
It offers maximum
versatility with bi-directional (left/right) 30° sortation of parcels, handling items as little as
100mm square at speeds of up to 60 items per/min. The compact two-stage
module can virtually halve the spacing required as a norm between conveyed
units, increasing throughput and operational efficiency.
