Baumann EXL sideloaders enter production

THIS MARKS a significant step in expanding its modern electric sideloader range, designed for timber yards, manufacturing facilities, and logistics hubs where space, safety, and efficiency are critical.

At just 4,200mm in length with a platform height of 750mm, the EXL is engineered to operate in confined areas without compromising load-handling performance. Available with 1,200mm or 1,400mm wide decks, the machine combines precision and agility, while the X-Plus feature adds 150mm outreach for safer load placement. A 120-volt system paired with a 120V/700Ah battery and an upgraded 21kW (63A) charger delivers faster, sustained operation, with swappable battery options supporting multi-shift use.

Operator comfort and safety are central to the EXL design. The Comfort Deluxe cabin features an air-suspended seat, excellent visibility, and intuitive controls, while heating, defrost systems, and LED lighting enhance performance in all conditions. SafeLoad Assistance Active+ continuously monitors load weight, mast height, outreach, and centre of gravity, intervening proactively to prevent unsafe operations.

The EXL was recently nominated in the Innovation category of the UK Materials Handling Awards (UKMHA), underscoring its forward-thinking design and advanced capabilities. The first EXL units for Germany demonstrate Baumann’s commitment to combining innovation, productivity, and safety, and with its compact design, high performance, and advanced operator features, the EXL is set to enhance efficiency in one of the company’s most important markets.
