Bespoke die handler
A second bespoke die handler that plays a critical role in the manufacture of piston seals and gaskets for inhalers at the West Pharmaceutical Services plant in Cornwall has been delivered by Wilmat.
The new Die Handler is part of Wilmat’s ‘Hercules’ range, which is capable of transporting dies up to 12,000kg, and can be specially designed and manufactured to the specific needs of customers.
At West Pharmaceutical, the new truck is required to handle dies weighing around 300kg which need to be regularly removed for cleaning and maintenance. The Wilmat Die Handling system’s compact design, combined with a hydraulically operated 2.3m lift range, ensures that this operation is carried out safely and efficiently.
Powered by a rechargable battery, the new Die Handler is in addition to an older model that’s proved more than capable of meeting the company’s needs for over a decade.
