Bold entrance to UK MHE market

A NOTABLE start has seen Aprolis commit significant investment to its new local operation, reinforcing the global handling giant’s long term commitment to its recently formed UK operation.

The investment has seen the acquisition of a successful group of material handling and industrial solutions companies, including leading UK premium handling specialist, Impact Handling in June 2021; the affordable quality handling experts, Grant Handling; the premium value equipment provider, HC UK; and the industrial doors business, Industrial Door Solutions.

The acquired group brings Aprolis a well-established portfolio of specialist providers, all of which are already highly respected within their particular sector in the local market. 

While all the UK operating divisions will now be brought together under the 'Aprolis UK' banner, each of the newly acquired businesses will continue to operate with their existing name, product portfolio and management structure, ensuring continuity for existing customers.

Aprolis UK CEO Steve Shakespeare, explains: "Each of the Aprolis UK companies will be focused on providing a range of solutions aimed at supporting the demands of a specific market segment. While, collectively, the businesses will give us the capability to meet both the needs of all types of equipment users, and to support them across the UK.”

Aprolis expects to realise significant growth synergies and financial efficiencies across its European product and service portfolio as a result of the acquisition, which will bring immediate benefits to both local and pan-European customers. 

In particular, the move reaffirms the Aprolis Group’s position as one of Cat Lift Trucks’ largest global partners.

Shakespeare notes: “As an Aprolis UK company, Impact Handling now has an even stronger relationship with the Cat Lift Trucks brand and access to even greater supporting resources. This will bring strong benefits to both our UK team and to our customers.” 

He continues: “It is the same story across the rest of our businesses, who also share common products with the wider Aprolis Group and the same core values."
Aprolis UK will also launch a new operating division – Aprolis Equipment Distribution. The division will provide a dedicated supply of specialist and premium handling equipment directly to dealers and commercial partners. All equipment will be exclusively imported through Aprolis UK. 
The Aprolis Equipment Distribution offering will include the product ranges of Konecranes Lift Trucks, Carer, Mobicon, Spijkstaal and Mol, amongst other brands. Following market demand, all equipment will be backed by a complete package of parts, training, and technical support.

Ongoing expansion will be a common priority across Aprolis’ UK businesses, which it has committed to achieve through both organic growth and acquisition.
