Briggs Defence established
Briggs Equipment has rebranding its specialist division Defence Logistic Support (DLS) as Briggs Defence.
The move emphasises the MHE supplier's strength in the vertical, which was cemented by a massive contract win with the MoD in 2013.
Briggs Defence supports 302 MoD sites across 16 countries, delivering a complete mechanical handling solution for defence operations as part of an £87m contract.
Gary Clements, strategic development director at Briggs Equipment, explains: "As we seek to develop our relationships with the MoD and related agencies, having a distinct identity will strengthen our position, enabling us to build on the success of our MoD contract and the newly awarded Protected Engineering Equipment and Dantruck contracts."
Briggs Defence has invested in a bespoke online platform for effective fleet management within a military environment. The Briggs Defence Portal enables users to track their assets and review machine availability along with the scheduling of service and maintenance work.
Briggs Defences manages in excess of 3,500 assets, including forklift trucks, plant vehicles, trailers, tow tractors, container handlers and agricultural tractors.
