Export achievements impress Queen’s Award judges

Returnable packaging solutions provider Loadhog has been presented with a Queen’s Award for International Trade.

Remaining at the forefront of this global campaign, Loadhog is committed to introducing new environmentally friendly, sustainable supply chain solutions, saving companies valuable time, money and labour.

In the last five years the Sheffield–based manufacturer has invested significantly in new manufacturing capacity and tooling, gearing up for the global opportunities. Recently additions have been made to its suite of eleven injection moulding machines.

In 2016 Loadhog put a 2020 vision in place with the key elements to grow through exports, to develop sales of high-volume containers and to identify customer supply chain problems which could be solved with innovative Loadhog solutions. Then in 2019 Loadhog Sarl was established in France to better service the growing number of international customers.

Turnover has increased 79% in the last three years, with exports up 181%. The company hit record export sales of £7.3m in 2018, no doubt assisted by the launch of new product ranges and targeting and entering developing markets.

Shaun Khan, Loadhog managing director, commented: “This is an exceptional and notable award which is testament to the hard work by everyone who played a significant part in achieving this highly prestigious recognition – a huge ‘well done’ to all the team.

“We are now recognised as a business able to demonstrate outstanding leadership and, vision, successful performance against business planning, and an inspiration to other companies. I am confident that this great company will continue to flourish and challenge the industry to do more to reduce single-use resources.”

Now a multi award-winning, employee-owned manufacturer, Loadhog aspired from its start in 2003 to become a global player with all its 100 UK-based staff, encouraged by each award. In 2009 the company was awarded the Innovation Queen’s Award for its unique Smartstak glass transportation solution.

Loadhog is continuing to lead and support global supply chains through these unprecedented times, assisting customers such as Amazon, Carrefour, and other last mile delivery distribution networks, with versatile packaging solutions suited to the new contingencies they have put in place.
