Movetech UK was established in 1959, initially as Bolton Turntable, and was founded on a single request for a car showroom turntable.

More than 50 years on and the company has evolved significantly and now designs, manufactures and installs heavy duty mechanical and air-film based materials handling equipment for diverse organisations, such as: major retailers, supermarket chains, leading industrial organisations, defence suppliers, the nuclear industry, automotive manufacturers and distributorships, government agencies, test laboratories and practically every commercial concern inbetween.

Providing unique solutions to meet our customers varied and demanding needs is where our expertise excels. We design and manufacture our own equipment in the UK, have our own installation and servicing teams, we even make our own air bearings under our Hovair trade name. Whether it’s a ‘one off’ movement of a new process machine into position, or you need equipment to assist in creating a flow-line of components through your production processes, we can advise.

Employing our knowledge of air-film technology, mechanical movement techniques, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic drive and control technology, our engineers have worked on projects as diverse as manoeuvring canal barges from low loader delivery truck into production facilities, moving aero-engine components through assembly production facilities, moving 90 tonne high voltage transformers from storage locations to loading bays, transporting 30 tonne pallets of architectural glass into and out of processing machinery, extracting 20 tonne flasks of irradiated material from storage to inspection facilities, and rotating vehicles and aircraft so that their ability to appear invisible to radar detection can be quantified.

Mechanical based systems may be more precise to control and self-contained, but airfilm systems can offer ease of omni-directional movement of heavy loads? Movetech UK use their experience and expertise to match the solution to the ‘challenge’ efficiently and cost effectively.

Whilst typical unit loads range between 1 and 100 tonnes any size and weight can be accommodated. All equipment is designed for maximum life cycle and ease of use with minimum maintenance. Delivered and installed from our UK base by our own engineers we can supply spares, maintenance and technical assistance as and where necessary quickly and efficiently.
