Hovercraft get a lift

Liifting equipment specialist, Lloyds British, has lifted a 55t hovercraft from its transport wheel blocks onto its stand for final fitting. Due to the limitations to the work area, the lift was set up for a maximum radius lift of 26m.

The start and finish position for the lift was assessed and Lloyds sited a 750t mobile crane, assemblinf lifting beams, slings and shackles in the configuration for a straight and even lift.

Lifting gear was then suspended from the crane and attached to the hovercraft lifting points.
