Movable loading system serves multiple loading bays

Posted on Friday 8 July 2022

A PORTABLE automated loading bay system wowed attendees at the recent LogiMAT exhibition.

The autonomously moving TRAPO Loading System (TLS series) featured with improvements on earlier versions. Slimmer and with optimised sensor technology, the loading system is picked up by the TRAPO Loading Mover (TLM Series) and moved by rail or wheel drive. Thus, only one TLS can serve several loading bays.

At LogiMAT 2022, a production-ready system with components of the industry standard were presented. Hardware and software come from a single source, and the customer has a single point of contact for all matters. The TLS will go into series production. The compact, autonomous loading and unloading system is said to eliminate the hectic danger zone between warehouse and truck. In combination with automated guided vehicles, it replaces the usual forklift transports between production, warehouse and loading zone.

The product has been piloted at JERMI Käsewerk, with more than 12,000 tons of processed and fresh cheese and around 28,000 tons of packaged cheese leaving its plant every year. A new hall was planned and automated together with the TRAPO team, with  layer palletisers, warehouse logistics, automated guided vehicles and autonomous loading with the TRAPO loading system.
