New version of WMS launched by Red Ledge

Red Ledge warehouse management and control system includes RFID goods tracking, automated routing and warehouse ‘lights out’ automatic storage and retrieval.

Software engineering and automation specialist Red Ledge is launching a new version of its WMS, ‘Red Ledge Warehouse Management and Control’ which makes extensive use of automation to optimise warehouse control for logistics, manufacturing and other supply chain users.

Benefits of Red Ledge’s state-of-the-art approach include RFID-driven goods tracking, automated goods routing and ASRS (automatic storage and retrieval) for a fully automated ‘lights out’ warehouse environment, already adopted by Red Ledge pilot sites.

Other new features include:

  • Order volumisation.
  • Automatic box erection and zonal picking software.
  • Intelligent links to ‘best for you’ couriers (chosen from a list of 70).
  • An interface to Böwe Systec Optimus sorters.
  • Controlled by a smart order management system.

Red Ledge Warehouse Management and Control can track and trace a wide range of goods, including pharmaceuticals and is compliant with Europe’s Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD). The system can be deployed on site or in the cloud.

“Our machine control strengths set our WMS apart from other systems, allowing the user to drive their warehouse processes with greater intelligence” says Red Ledge technical director Alan Wilcockson. “The new system takes WMS to a new level.”
