Pick bins boost storage for e-tailer
When faced with 10,000 SKUs one of the UK’s largest clothing retailers school uniform range, 3PL Dalepak needed a flexible storage solution.
Dalepak eCommerce director Scott McGinley explains: “When you are dealing with a large number of SKUs it is vital to set up operations in the most efficient way possible. We knew our packaging partners, Woodway UK, would be able to advise on what our options were.
“Woodway’s Technical Team designed a corrugated pick bin at the optimum size and strength to enable us to multi-stack.
“The corrugated pick bin solution is ideal. Being flexible means that it can be moved without engineers having to take down then erect racking. Because the barcode remains with the pick bin this improves integrity throughout the process. It has also given us a 17% increase in space utilisation. As the product is paper based it also has the added benefit of being 100% recyclable.”
