Retailer upgrades security with 13 new gates
FBS Hörmann has installed 13 high-security gates across a major retailer’s Northern Ireland sites, the first UK project to use gates made by fellow Hörmann Group company Holler Gates.
THE CONTRACT formed part of a programme to upgrade perimeter security at multiple retail locations. The 13 gates comprise 11 automated cantilever sliding gates and two sets of swing gates, one automated and one manual. FBS Hörmann also carried out remedial work at a further 12 sites, bringing existing gates up to current safety standards and returning them to fully automatic operation.
The Lincolnshire-based company delivered a turnkey solution, managing the project from initial survey to final commissioning, including civil engineering and force testing. Every gate was fitted to current safety requirements, including Category 3 safety edges. FBS Hörmann also coordinated transport of the gates from the manufacturing facility in Austria to Northern Ireland.
The project follows the Hörmann Group’s acquisition of Austrian manufacturer Holler Gates in July 2025. Founded in 1992 and still family-owned, Holler Gates makes aluminium swing and sliding gates. UK customers can now access its range through FBS Hörmann’s Perimeter Protection Division.
