Smartphone first for forklift fleet management

Elokon has released the first smartphone based forklift fleet management system on the market.

Its new ELOfleet4 forklift fleet management system is the first of its kind to be controlled by an app on a smartphone or tablet of the customer’s choice.

“This innovative assistance system represents a major step forward in the sector, as using commercially available smartphones makes it easy and intuitive to operate,” said Elokon MD Alexander Glasmacher.

ELOfleet4 can be installed or retrofitted on any type of forklift, can analyse data accrued across multiple sites and is particularly suited to operations which use mixed fleets. Software can be installed in the cloud or on a local server within the customer's firewall, according to their requirements.

Features include driver access login using RFID Near Field Communication (NFC) and freely configurable electronic pre-ops checklists. Any impacts or damage are wirelessly notified in real time and a host of KPI indicators can be recorded. The newly designed dashboard can be operated via the web browser of tablets, smartphones or notebooks to ensure fast analysis of all important fleet data, which can be summarised in daily, weekly or monthly evaluations.

ELOprotect

Elokon will also present an updated version of ELOprotect – a mobile personnel detection safety system for very narrow aisle trucks. This is now available with a new laser scanner with a higher detection range of 9 metres allowing for higher speeds and therefore increased productivity. Its reduced size also makes it much easier to be integrated with modern day VNA trucks.

Also on display is the UWB-based protection system ELOshield, which creates flexibly programmable  protective shields around pedestrians and forklifts to reduce the risk of accidents. A fixed-site version monitors accident-prone areas, such as high-traffic aisle intersections and a mobile version monitors danger zones of up to 25 metres around moving vehicles (both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-person).
