Sun protection

Arco believes that sun protection is a vital element of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and that both employers and employees should take the greatest care when working outdoors even for short periods.

The company’s protection products include the Deb SunPROTECT range of sun creams, with the Deb SunPROTECT Skin Safety Centre which helps to educate people about the dangers of working outside.

Although windscreens block up to 98% of harmful UVA rays, this is because they are made of glass laminated with plastic. However, the glass used for other vehicle windows offers nowhere near the same protection, especially for UVA. They allow up to 80% penetration, so the cab is not as protected as it might at first appear.
