Tough, fast-acting door

Working with family-owned construction and asset management business, Lagan Construction Group, Hart Door Systems has supplied a large, 9 x 9m Speedor ‘Storm’ together with a 9 x 4m shutter for Viridor’s £200m Beddington energy from waste plant.

The plant is scheduled for completion in 2017. It has a 300,000 tonnes-per-year capacity, treating household residual waste from the South London Waste Partnership – comprising Croydon, Kingston, Merton, and Sutton borough councils. The plant will also have a generating capacity of 26MW, supplying electricity to the National Grid and the potential for usable heat for local industry or housing.

Suitable for challenging environments, the Speedor Storm is are fast-acting and, through its guide system, is tough enough to deliver wind resistance up to Class 5, over 90 mph.

Speedor Storm conforms with ISO9002/3 and the machinery directive for power operated doors, PREN 12453 and 12444. Operation is flexible through induction floor loops, photo cells, radar, vehicle mounted radio transmitters, pull cords, press button or hand held activation.
