Twisting pasta to floor level

A world leading pasta maker from Italy wanted to maximise its line efficiency and bring two separate product streams down to the next part of the line.

One of the problems was that both streams had to come down on a very limited amount of space, which ruled out installing a separate machine for each stream.

In a standard situation, where both streams come together before entering the spiral, a single SpiralVeyor with two separately driven tracks would work. Though in this layout the streams came in from multiple angles and heights which meant Ambaflex had to find a different solution.

The firms says: “To connect to both the incoming and outgoing lines coming from different levels, we came up with a solution where we managed to combine two SpiralVeyors onto one column, essentially nesting them. Each with their own in and outfeed positions. The two nested spirals can pick up both streams and bring them down taking the same amount of floor space as one regular spiral.”
