Utilities firm selects Hyundai

Hyundai forklifts part of deal with utilities services company Gallagher.

Gallagher has expanded its existing fleet by buying two new  25D – 7E Hyundai  forklift trucks from EP Industries, featuring keypad access for increased safety.

Derbyshire based Hyundai dealer EP Industries struck a deal worth a total of £190k when other equipment is taken into account.

Gallagher is a privately owned business that has grown successfully over the last 14 years to a circa £50m turnover business with its roots founded in servicing the utility sector. It provides asset delivery and maintenance services to the utilities and telecoms industries.

Gallagher director, Vincent O’Connor said: “We wanted to pick products that have strong environmental and safety credentials and we had positive feedback from other users of Hyundai equipment in our sector.  We chose to deal with EP industries because they were a local supplier with trusted product knowledge and experience with good facilities and support available for the buyer.”

Hyundai Heavy Industries has converted its entire range of 1.5 to 16 tonne load capacity diesel forklifts to Stage IIIB engines. Kubota diesel engines are used on all forklifts with load capacities of 1.5 to 7 tonne. The midrange of 11-16 tonne forklifts is powered by Cummins engines. The 18 tonne 180D-9 forklift with a Stage IV engine is equipped with the latest MTU engine from the Mercedes-Benz range.
An auto-shifting torque converter transmission is now standard on all forklifts from 3.5 to 25 tonne. It replaces the previous manual-shift transmission in the 3.5 to 5 tonne range. Speed and acceleration can now be individually adjusted to suit the operator’s needs.
