XPO Logistics to welcome 120 apprentices in 2016

In line with National Apprenticeship Week, leading global supply chain provider XPO Logistics has announced plans to recruit at least 120 apprentices in the UK this year.

Since first launching its apprenticeship programme in 2013, XPO Logistics has recruited over 270 apprentices across 60 sites in the UK. The company makes jobs available to all apprentices upon successful completion of the programme.

XPO Logistics offers a broad range of opportunities to attract talented young people to careers within the supply chain industry. In addition to core apprenticeships in warehousing, transport and HGV driving, the company accepts apprentices in HR, finance, technology, customer service, facility operations and maintenance.

Mark Simmons, HR Director, supply chain – UK and Ireland for XPO Logistics, said: “Our apprentice programme continues to earn terrific feedback from both the apprentices and the operational leaders in our business. Retention rates are increasing year-on-year and 97% of our current apprentices say that they see themselves having a long-term future with XPO Logistics. This is a tremendous endorsement of our training programmes.

“This year, we are building on past success by enhancing our learning frameworks and introducing dedicated on-site apprentice coordinators. This will ensure that every one of our new apprentices receives even greater support to build a fulfilling career.”
