Fuel costs slashed
Simarco, one of the UK’s leading independent freight firms, expects to use significantly less fuel after switching to Mitsubishi GRENDiA forklifts. The new deal with Bronze Mechanical Handling has seen eight GRENDiA trucks, with capacities from 2 to 3 tonnes, replace the Essex company’s outgoing fleet of mixed suppliers and brands.

Move to new site
Sahara Presentation Systems, will join Europa Worldwide in its move to its new, state of the art facility in Dartford in early summer. The 262,500ft2 site, currently under construction, will become Sahara’s new home, boosting existing capacity by 50 per cent but with opportunity for further expansion at the new site.
Palletised contract win
Steve Porter Transport Group has entered into a new national palletised deal with Meachers Global Logistics. The Isle of Wight’s largest independent freight carrier will be delivering 10,000 pallets per year from Meachers’ Nursling warehouse to locations across the UK.
Stainless steel spiral
When Lantmannen Unibake needed to replace an existing stainless steel spiral, working in conjunction with LAC Conveyor Systems and belt supplier Intralox a new design, unique to the UK was developed that “lifted” the conveyor off the floor, creating storage space underneath the conveyor.
