Adidas kicks off automated project

TGW has announced that it will implement an automated warehouse solution at the new Adidas logistics centre in Brazil.

The global sporting goods brand is investing in a modern logistics centre at its site in Embu das Artes near São Paulo from which it intends to serve the Brazilian market.

TGW has designed a picking system especially for Adidas at the centre. This will include a complex 2.1 kilometre conveyor network along with TGW Commander controls and an iWACS IT system to enable a continuous and high capacity material flow inside the distribution centre.

In addition to the physics and the software, TGW will also provide a Lifetime Service package offering spare parts and a two-year on site maintenance contract including 24/7 technical hotline services.

Diogo Figueiredo SCM director at Adidas in Brazil said: “Adidas is well recognised as one of the leading providers in the global sports goods market. Our expectation with TGW as partner is to increase our efficiencies in this highly competitive business.”
