Baumann unveiled enhanced EXL with integrated connectivity and new operator cabin at LogiMAT
Baumann used the LogiMAT exhibition in Stuttgart to present the latest development of its EXL electric sideloader, introducing integrated connectivity via Baumann Online alongside a newly designed operator cabin.

BAUMANN HAS focused on enhancing the EXL platform by combining improved operator conditions with greater visibility of truck activity, performance and condition. The result is a more connected and more controllable sideloader, designed to support modern materials handling operations.
Built on Baumann’s latest electric platform, the EXL combines the compact footprint of the ELX range with the performance characteristics of the EGX series.

This latest development reflects growing demand for greater operational visibility, particularly in applications handling long and bulky loads in restricted environments such as timber yards, steel stockholders and building material operations.
At the centre of the update is connectivity. The truck links directly to Baumann Online, providing access to operational data and diagnostic information that can be used to support maintenance planning, monitor usage and reduce unplanned downtime.
“Giving customers a clearer picture of how their equipment is performing in real working conditions is becoming increasingly important,” said Fabio Bernieri, international sales manager at Baumann. “With access to the right data, businesses can plan more effectively and respond before issues develop.”
Focus on visibility and control
This latest development highlights a broader shift in sideloader applications, where operational visibility and uptime are becoming as important as core specifications such as capacity and lift performance.
Through Baumann Online, the EXL enables operators and fleet managers to monitor truck activity and utilisation in real time, access diagnostic data for faster fault identification, plan service and maintenance more effectively, and maintain greater overall oversight of fleet performance.
This supports a more structured, preventative approach to fleet management. The platform also incorporates an energy-efficient electric drive system, with options including lithium-ion battery technology and regenerative braking to support longer operating cycles and reduced energy consumption.
Larger cabin for improved operator conditions
The latest EXL development also introduces a newly designed cabin measuring almost a metre in width, providing increased space and improved ergonomics for the operator. The updated design enhances visibility of the load and working area while supporting a more controlled and comfortable operating environment during extended shifts.
Despite the increased cabin size, the truck retains a compact footprint, preserving manoeuvrability in restricted aisles, yards and loading areas.
Innovative pantograph
The EXL model on display at LogiMAT is a 5-tonne capacity machine, equipped with a double-crossed pantograph designed to deliver extended reach without compromising the truck’s core dimensions. This improves handling flexibility while helping to reduce the risk of contact with trailers and loading infrastructure during operation.
Unlike conventional solutions, the pantograph system is engineered to maintain full platform width, ensuring stability and load handling performance are not affected. This configuration is particularly suited to applications requiring both compact operation and increased handling flexibility.
The enhanced EXL is available as part of Baumann’s electric sideloader range, with configurations tailored to specific applications and operating environments.
